A meaningful fuel comparison also requires estimated CNG fuel economy in DGE and the applicable CNG price per DGE. DGE is a diesel gallon equivalent, an energy measure. It does not mean a CNG truck will achieve the same fuel economy as your diesel truck.

What fleets and drivers ask.
Does CNG guarantee fuel savings?
No. Fuel-cost differences depend on diesel and CNG prices, vehicle fuel economy, annual mileage and utilization. Equipment, financing, maintenance and other operating costs also matter. A preliminary comparison is not a savings guarantee.
What do I need for a preliminary fleet evaluation?
Start with truck count, annual miles per truck, current diesel MPG and current diesel price. A meaningful comparison also needs estimated CNG fuel economy and CNG pricing, with equipment and operating costs considered separately.
Do I need to build a CNG station first?
No private station construction is required to fuel suitable CNG vehicles at Almeda Fuels. Contact us to discuss whether the station and a fleet arrangement fit your operation.
