Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Tidewall vinyl sheet piling.

How is Tidewall installed?

There are many methods of installing Tidewall, but essentially, it is driven vertically into the ground. The driving methods include vibro hammers, plate compactors, pile drivers, compression driving, and even jetting. See our Installation page for detailed descriptions of each method.

How long will Tidewall last?

The PVC used in Tidewall vinyl sheet piling is an inert material. Once it is properly installed, Tidewall will not rust or corrode; it will not rot or fracture. In short, a Tidewall wall should remain in place for many decades. Tidewall backs this with a 60-year transferable warranty — the best in the industry.

How long has Tidewall been in use?

The technology and techniques to produce vinyl sheet piling was first developed by Bama Plastics, which later became Tidewall. The first sheets produced on our equipment were installed in 1990, and are still performing well.

What makes Tidewall different from other vinyl seawall products?

Tidewall uses only 100% window-grade UV-stabilized PVC compound — the best available. Many competitors use lower-grade siding, fencing, or pipe-grade compounds. Tidewall is also vertically integrated, controlling the entire process from raw material sourcing through extrusion. This results in higher quality at a competitive price.

How can I become a Tidewall distributor?

Tidewall is actively seeking both stocking and non-stocking distributors for territories and countries all over the world. Visit our Distributors page or contact us to express your interest and initiate the process.

What colors are available?

Light grey is the standard color for Tidewall products. Other colors are available — contact us to discuss your project requirements.

Does Tidewall have distributors in my area?

Tidewall has stocking distributors across the United States and international agents in over a dozen countries. See the full list on our Distributors page. If there is no distributor in your area, Tidewall can quote and ship directly to you.
